FANTIN-LATOUR – Still Life Oil Painting Workshop

About Workshop: This class will take inspiration from the French painter and lithographer, Henry Fantin-Latour, famously known for his still-life flower paintings and portraits. Throughout the course, the instructor will lead students in developing general compositional skills and in composing several of their own beautiful still-life paintings. Supples not included. About your instructor:

Born and raised in Tallahassee, and currently residing in Lakeland, Greg Mannheimer is a largely self-taught Artist of a Classical bent. Ultimately, his instructors are ultimately the Old and Not-So-Old Masters of the 15th-20th centuries. Mr. Mannheimer was the youngest signatory of his gallery in 2010; the youngest Artist to receive a company scholarship to attend the Portrait Society of America’s 2012 annual conference in Philadelphia, PA; has taught classes at various Centers for the Visual Arts, Civic Institutions, and even Smithsonian-Affiliated Museums, and has given private lessons; and has exhibited his work at some of the most prestigious Art festivals in the region, including Mayfaire-by-the-Lake (Lakeland), FAFO’s Fall Festival of the Arts (Ocala), Gasparilla (Tampa), and Mainsail (St. Petersburg). Mr. Mannheimer is currently 33, and gardens flowers and vegetables in his free time.
