And It Was Good

This piece marks a turning point in my artwork as well as my life. I found myself at my wit’s end and decided to embrace experimentation and to try to explore more of my identity as an artist through color and texture. I got tired of relying on inspiration from dark, heavy emotion and took a turn towards hope and a brighter perspective. The title, “And It Was Good” is inspired by the beginning of the book of Genesis when the universe is being created and every phase of God’s creation is described as “good.” This painting serves as a symbol of hope and a reminder that there is a greater purpose to everything that happens in this life.
