“Static Brain Wave” by Rod Acosta captures the tension between energy and stillness — a sculptural visualization of thought frozen in motion. They Listen By Rod Acosta

Sculpture
Medium: Welded Steel and Oil Paint
Dimensions: 25" x 10.5" x 6"
Price: US $250

A striking fusion of industrial form and poetic symbolism, They Listen stands as a quiet yet powerful reminder of presence, awareness, and connection. Rod Acosta transforms welded steel into a family of abstracted figures, each rising at a different height—pause-like bodies poised in attentive stillness. Their upward tilt suggests curiosity, wonder, or perhaps a search for meaning beyond themselves.

The oil-painted finish softens the rawness of the steel, adding subtle shifts of color that evoke organic growth—like plants reaching for light, or beings leaning in to hear what the world has to say. Whether interpreted as listeners, observers, guardians, or sentinels, the sculpture invites interaction, drawing the viewer into the same act of listening.

Both grounded and otherworldly, They Listen blurs the line between machine and emotion, structure and spirit—embodying Acosta’s talent for animating steel with a distinctly human presence.

Hydra By Rod Acosta

🗿 Sculpture
Medium: Welded Steel and Oil Paint
Dimensions: 31" x 14" x 6"
Price: US $330

Bold, industrial, and mythic in presence, Hydra rises like a multi-headed sentinel — a modern reinterpretation of the ancient creature known for its many forms and endless regeneration. Rod Acosta constructs the sculpture from welded steel, its branching arms and varied textures suggesting growth, division, and adaptation. Each vertical form reaches upward with its own character, some smooth, some coarse, some capped with bulb-like heads or coiled metal, giving the work the sense of a living system in motion.

The addition of oil paint introduces subtle shifts in tone, evoking both organic decay and futuristic circuitry. Part machine, part organism, Hydra blurs boundaries between engineered structure and evolving life. It reflects Acosta’s ongoing exploration of how humanity, nature, and technology overlap — sometimes in harmony, sometimes in tension.

Standing like a rooted organism with many minds, Hydra invites viewers to question what is alive, what is constructed, and what might be becoming.

Fire Seed By Rod Acosta

🗿 Sculpture
Medium: Welded Steel and Oil Paint
Dimensions: 30" x 10"x 10"
Price: US $465

Rising upward in a twisting, flame-like form, Fire Seed captures the moment where energy becomes life — a spark transforming into growth, motion, and possibility. Rod Acosta welds steel into layered, organic shapes that appear to unfurl like petals, embers, or wings, suggesting both destruction and creation in the same breath.

Painted with subtle blues, greens, and rust tones, the surface carries the alchemy of fire and earth: scorched metal that also feels alive, textured, and breathing. Like a seed bursting open beneath pressure and heat, the sculpture embodies resilience — the idea that something new is always waiting to rise from what once burned.

Rooted in industrial strength but alive with movement, Fire Seed is both a relic and a beginning — a monument to transformation, rebirth, and the unstoppable force of becoming.
